Why would I use an enclosure heater?

Enclosure heaters have various uses, but there are two fundamental applications. Firstly, to maintain the temperature of an electrical enclosure at a level suitable for the components contained within. In principle this tends to be for frost protection, ie keeping the internal ambient temperature above freezing. Secondly, for the purposes of preventing condensation from occurring and hence preventing damage caused by moisture. Anti-condensation heaters need to be specified to ensure that the air temperature within the cabinet or enclosure remains above the dew point.
